A one-woman show of healing and reclamation

A one-woman show of healing and reclamation
Four words used to wound—and four archetypes rising from the ashes.
In Perra Puta Loca Bruja, Vanessa Codorniu transforms curses into crowns, weaving stories of lineage, rage, love, and liberation. Each name becomes a mirror: the "bitch" who protects, the "whore" who reclaims, the "madwoman" who sees, the "witch" who heals.
Each name represents an archetype, archetypes are doorways that awaken our hidden strengths, ancestral wisdom, and creative potential.
This one-woman show is ritual, rebellion, and revelation, an invitation to laugh, grieve, and remember the power we were told to fear.

Vanessa Codorniu is a NYC-bred Latina improviser, actor, podcaster, writer, and wellness entrepreneur who started performing in her abuela’s living room and had a past life in NYC as a casting assistant in film and TV. A proud alum of the Nuyorican Poets Cafe, PRIDE, and NYU Tisch, where she directed and acted—she recently played Papagalla the pirate parrot in Plunder & Lightning and performed with Hyena Skits Sketch Comedy Troupe, Popcorn Hat Players at the Gamut Theatre and Hair Story at PSU. Vanessa leads a bilingual online business and hosts two podcasts: The Biz Bruja Podcast (English) and Nacimos Mágicas (Spanish), and has written for HOLA! Magazine, BELatina, and more.
She is the creator and performer of the solo show Perra Puta Loca Bruja, which was workshopped at the York Fringe festival in 2025 and premiered at the Frigid Fringe Festival 2026, where it received the Sold Out Award, Biggest Box Office Award, and the Extension Award, earning an invitation to the Gotham Storytelling Festival.
Vanessa founded the pop-spirituality improv team Cosmic Trash, sings with the musical improv group The Offbeats, and launched Pennsylvania’s first Latino improv group, LoS CoMpLiCaDoS. She performs with the BIPOC ensemble Unshushed Sisters and teaches improv through the Harrisburg Improv Theatre and her company, Improv-Unleashed.com, where she coaches high-performing teams. She returns to the screen this summer in River City Stories as a lead and appears as Mary Celeste in Orchid.
Her work has been featured in SHAPE!, Refinery29, Telemundo, Primer Impacto, Univision, The Shift Network, WGAL, ABC 27 Good Day PA, The Burg, La Voz Latina, and more.
Vanessa is proud to be breaking ancestral curses , living her ancestors wildest dreams and living her life out loud!

For Vanessa Codorniu and her group of performers, it’s complicated. Literally. Because that’s their name.
Los Complicados.
“This is why we chose our name,” Codorniu explained recently, with a laugh. “We’re complicated voices in comedy. We’re not just trying to be funny. We’re trying to tell truths, too, and that’s tough in this day and age.”
